City Wide of Tampa Bay
After a combined 50 years at Cintas Corporation Steve Howerton, David Otis and John Duffy quit good paying jobs in a bad economy to open the 25th City Wide location. Steve found City Wide while searching Top franchises on Google one day. Steve began talking about opening his own business to John and then to David and more than a year later they pulled together most of their life savings and did it.
The first year was nervous and exciting. The first account was Palms of Pasadena’s Physician’s Group then Ferman Chrysler Dodge in Lutz and by the end of the year City Wide Tampa Bay serviced more than 40 customers and 580,000 in annual revenue. They were named Rookie of the Year and fastest franchise to 100K in monthly volume while maintaining 96% customer retention.
Year two has been just as exciting as the company has grown to near 1.75 million in annual revenue with a loyal customer base servicing more than 100 customers in the Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota area. Steve, David and John love City Wide’s Total Solution Approach and the fact that 3 parties win with the City Wide model. The customer no longer has to manage their outsourced vendors; the crew gets training and a clear scope of work, and City Wide gets a customer for life.
They look forward to many more years with the City Wide family and growing an even larger and more loyal customer base in the Tampa Bay area.
