City Wide Earns a 'Three-Peat' Ranking by Inc. Magazine
August 12, 2010Inc. Magazine and Inc.com, the on-line arm of the well-respected business publication, today announced City Wide Maintenance of Colorado is one of the fastest growing private companies in America for the third consecutive year.
The Inc. 5000, an extension of Inc. magazine’s annual Inc. 500 list, is the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. This annual ranking by Inc.com catches many businesses that are too big to grow at the pace required to make the Inc. 500, as well as a host of smaller firms. Taken as a whole, these companies represent the backbone of the U.S. economy.
“Savvy trend spotters and those who invest in private companies know the Inc. 5000 is the best place to find out about young companies that are achieving success through a wide variety of unprecedented business models, as well as older private companies that are still expanding at an impressive rate,” said Inc. 5000 project manager, Jim Melloan.
“It is the hard work and dedication of our entire City Wide staff to our customers that has earned us a third appearance in as many years on this prestigious list,” says Doug Brown, President of City Wide Maintenance of Colorado. “But it’s also a great testament to the unique business model at the core of our company.”
Established in 2002, City Wide Maintenance of Colorado is a professional management company within the building maintenance industry offering 20+ services to its commercial clients, including janitorial, carpet cleaning, window washing, parking lot maintenance and tenant improvements. City Wide is a “Total Solution” to its clients for building maintenance services. Says Brown, “We save our clients time by reducing the headaches associated with managing multiple vendors on their own.”
City Wide Maintenance of Colorado is one of 142 companies headquartered in Colorado to make the Inc.5000 list this year.
“Our commercial building maintenance industry, although mature is relatively recession-resistant," says Doug Brown. “And we’re thankful the City Wide business model allows us to be competitive even in the current economy. Colorado is a great place to live and do business. We’re very excited about our prospects to make the Inc 5000 list again next year.”

Methodology
The 2009 Inc. 5000 list is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2005, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they have to be U.S.-based and privately held, independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2008, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2005 and $2 million in 2008. The top ten percent of companies on the list comprise the Inc. 500, now in its 28th year.
