Karen Sommers, Principal
Karen started City Wide Maintenance of Boston in 2008 with her business partner and husband, Bob Sommers. Prior to City Wide, in 2003, Karen and Bob founded the charitable organization Smiling Kids Inc. (www.smilingkidsinc.org.) Smiling Kids provides birthday presents for children and teen-in-need throughout eastern Massachusetts. Karen began her sales career in Boston, MA with the LoJack Corporation (’89-92) and WBMX/MIX 98.5FM (’92- 95). From 1995-2000 she was the General Sales Manager for American Radio Systems stations WRMM, Rochester, NY; WRKO, Boston and finally WBMX, Boston under the new ownership of CBS/Infinity Broadcasting. Karen graduated from Boston University with a B.S. in Mass Communications/PR.
Bob Sommers, Principal
Bob started City Wide Maintenance of Boston in 2008 with his business partner and wife, Karen Sommers. In 2003, Karen and Bob founded the charitable organization Smiling Kids Inc. (www.smilingkidsinc.org.) Smiling Kids provides birthday presents for children and teen-in-need throughout eastern Massachusetts. Over a 15 year period, prior to City Wide, Bob worked in a variety of sales and marketing management positions in the high-tech industry. He held positions Sun Microsystems Inc., Open Market Software and several venture capital backed technology companies. He is a graduate of Hamilton College with a BA in Psychology. He is also a graduate of Babson College Olin School of Management with a MBA in Marketing.
